The Society of Advocates of Namibia has commended the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) for apologising and fully retracting statements made following televised allegations by labour consultant and lay litigant Hewat Beukes about High Court Judge Dave Smuts and the Namibian Judiciary.

A SOS Children’s Village employee Martin Matengu’s dismissal was found to be unfair by the Labour Commissioner after he was charged with misconduct for allegedly sending a report to the office of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare.

THE permanent secretary in the Ministry of Education, Alred Iilukena, this week instructed all regional directorates and part-time examination centres to register Grade 10 and 12 candidates who were not able to register for the 2013 national exams in April.
