Walvis Bay is grappling with a renewed water crisis since Tuesday, as the pelagic and white fish sectors pushed water demand to uncharacteristic levels in recent days in the wake of good pilchard and white fish catches.

Walvis Bay’s industrial expansion is set to gain even more momentum with an announcement this week that Walvis Bay Salt Works wants to expand its salt production infrastructure at its existing premises southwest of the harbour town.
