Well-known businessman Rainer Arangies was arrested and detained for trying to prevent the driver of a government car from unlawfully leaving the scene of an accident.

THE Children’s Education Centre (CEC) in Usakos that was established with the goal to provide orphans with a loving environment that nurtures their growth and development, is permanently shutting its door's tomorrow, 19 April. The CEC was established in 1991 and accommodated 40 students. One of the teachers at the CEC, Maretha Steenkamp, says that when Charly Salvoldi, the chairperson of the private school, told them the news, the teachers made a proposal to him, but he apparently declined it. “We asked him to at least keep the centre open until the end of this year. We wanted the students to start their new year in another grade at another school.”
