Lady May set to perform in Germany |

AWARD winning pop diva Lady May, real name Martha Namundjebo, is leaving for Germany to perform in Berlin on December 11.
The show, organised by Re/vision and AfricAvenir International will feature visual artists, poets, musicians and photographers from Cameroon, Senegal, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Kenya. Some of the artists billed to perform at the annual arts exhibition include Nu-Barreto from Guinea Bissau, Saidou Dicko Gaiibu from Burkina Faso, Serigne Mor Niang from Senegal. Lady May’s manager, Loide Namandje, said her artist was very happy with the tour and ready to unleash her typical scintillating dance moves in Germany. “I can confirm that Lady May will be performing at an arts exhibition in Germany courtesy of Re/vision and she is set to leave soon,” said Namandje. Namandje said the artist appreciates the recognition she continues to get from the international music circle She said the artist is at the peak of her career, earning recognition from some of the popular music awards including the Channel O and MTV music awards. Namanje added that the artist was busy preparing for the forthcoming show in the studio. The organiser of the show Hans-Christian Mahnke said the venue where lady May will perform is popular in Germany as it is situated next to the Germany Chancellor’s residence and has been graced by some of Africa’s greatest musicians including Femi Kuti of Nigeria. “We are working flat out to make sure her trip to Germany will be successful. She is a wonderful performer and this is an opportunity for her to show the world what Namibian music is all about,” said Mahnke. |
