NAMIBIAN Kwaito superstar, The Dogg is launching his ninth album, The Deception which will see him bring in South Africa’s self proclaimed Queen of Bling, Khanyi Mbau and Kwaito star, Brickz, for a performance in Windhoek.
The launch is expected to feature local musicians, including Jericho, Gal Level, Catty Catt, Fresh Family, KaniBal, D-Naff, Sunny Boy, Tate Buti, PDK and Magogos. Most is said to have featured on the album. The Deception is a 12-track album featuring popular singles like Do for Sure and Live Life featuring the Omalaeti crew, already enjoying airplay on radio stations across the country. “The album is on fire,” The Dogg said. South Africa’s Brickz features on the track Tremendous, while Zambia’s JK, who features on End of Time will not make it to the CD launch as he will be in Australia. “Working with Brickz and JK was a dream come true because they are of the best musicians in Africa and quite in demand. It’s an achievement for me,” he said. He added that because of these collaborations, they can promote each other throughout the continent and so will the Mshasho brand expand further. “The good thing is that the tracks on which they feature will also be on their upcoming albums.” The Deception, which The Dogg says relates to all, is a response to people who are busy portraying the wrong impression about him, thus the album informs those who do not know him who he really is. “It’s up to them to listen and believe, but this album can be regarded as the next year’s album of the year,” he bragged with a chirp on his face. He promised that music videos, Tremendous and Beautiful Night will be on television soon after the CD launch. The next CD launches for The Deception will be held in Oshakati, Rundu, Walvis Bay and Keetmanshoop throughout the following months. Normal entry to the UNAM stadium will cost N$50 both in advance and at the gate and N$150 with a copy of the new release. The first 100 people will get free The Deception t-shirts otherwise tickets are available at Shoprite outlets countrywide and on Computicket. “I know it’s cold and if people can have shows in Walvis Bay or Cape Town where it’s constantly cold, then why not? Just dress up warm and come. The music will shake you up plus there will be free soup served,” The Dogg said.
