Associated Motor Holdings of Namibia (AMH) has been accused of dishonest dealings after it received N$3 000 for spare parts from a customer more than seven months ago, but never delivered as agreed, within the time-frame of two weeks.

The Ausspannplatz-based spare parts shop is being accused of mistreating a customer who has been waiting for Hyundai Elantra parts since November last year. The woman in question made an initial deposit of N$3 000 to AMH, but received nothing in return.
The woman who is based in Ondangwa, but works as a part-time lecturer at the University of Namibia in Oshakati complained to Informanté that she has been severely inconvenienced by AMH.
“My car has been parked now for seven months at home even though I was promised to have the spare parts delivered from South Africa within two weeks. When I enquire about them, sometimes I am told they were given away or are still on the way. I find it very disturbing that no one at AMH is prepared to apologise to me and address this unfortunate situation once and for all.”
She told Informanté that a certain Swartz who received the money from her is always changing his stories whenever he is cornered to tell the truth. Sometimes he told her that the parts have been given away to another customer and at another time he makes empty promises that the parts would be delivered any time soon.
Informanté has seen a receipt, dated 25 November 2011, signed by Swartz, in which he acknowledged receiving N$3 000 from the aggrieved customer. Swartz told Informanté that the items were delivered on Friday, 25 May. When pressed to say where they were delivered, he retorted that the driver who could give the details was out of the shop, but he promised to find out the details as soon as the driver returns and would call back to confirm. Swartz however did not keep his word.
The irate customer says that she has not received anything since. “If they have delivered anything, let them show the delivery note for everybody to see that they are telling the truth. They should rather stop fooling and cheating me. I am now forced to consider legal action against AHM,” she fumed.
