Namib Contract Haulage took possession of a new fleet of seven MAN buses this week, thanks to a capital injection of N$12 million from its parent company, Kalahari Holdings.

Speaking at the occasion and graced by the presence of Finance Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, Dr Elias Shanyengana, director the politically-connected transport company, noted that the distinctly-coloured busses are already renowned throughout the country.
The last previous acquisition was made about five years ago, he said, adding that those buses were now getting old. “They have covered 1.2 million kilometers each,” he explained. Since the majority of the local population relies on long distance transport, Namib Contract Haulage remains, “committed to providing affordable services to the nation,” he said.
In this respect the company plans to introduce new routes to the south and to the west of the country to bring the service closer to the people.
