A middle-aged man narrowly escaped serious injury and trauma when he was savagely bitten on his penis by a transvestite in Walvis Bay last Saturday.

The man, whose penis was nearly bitten off, is currently in the Windhoek Central Hospital, having been transferred from the Walvis Bay State Hospital yesterday.

The man, whose name is known to Informanté, narrated that he met one Sonia Khaebes last week and asked her to be his girlfriend. Khaebes reportedly phoned him three days later and directed him to her place in Seapoint. He found her with a friend, known only as Bembe, whom Khaebes referred to as her sister, but who is reportedly a transvestite. Bembe is apparently the owner of the shack where they met at the back of a house in Seapoint.
The man in question was in the company of his newfound friends, Bembe and Sonia, when they left the shack to go to a nearby watering hole. After downing a few beers, the group returned to Bembe’s shack, where Khaebes told him that her boyfriend had arrived. An argument reportedly broke out about why Khaebes had asked him to come over while she has a boyfriend. The situation was defused only when Bembe suggested that they should all go to the nearby Flexi Bar, promising that he would bring the girls (including Sonia) around later.
When Khaebes failed to pitch up, Bembe apparently suggested that they both go back to his shack where Khaebes was said to be sleeping.
“I told my friends to go home, since I will spend the night with Sonia. In the shack, I found somebody sleeping and covered up to the head. I took off my shirt and my shoes and slept next to her. Bembe went outside and returned to the room and slept on the bed as well, with his feet hanging on the ground,” the victim narrated with a grin of pain on his face.
He says that he slept for a while and started touching the person he thought was Khaebes, but he soon realised that he was touching a man’s genitals. He says he stretched his arm to reach for his phone on the pillow and that was when Bembe jumped up and shouted: “I’m going to kill you now.”
“He stuck his hand into my trouser and I told him to leave me alone. In the blink of an eye he pulled out my penis and bit it. I screamed and jumped up; the girl next to me also jumped up and we fled the room. I then found out that the girl was not Sonia. With my bloody penis in my hand, I stumbled to my friend’s house nearby, who called the ambulance and I was taken to the Walvis Bay State Hospital where I had been since Sunday, until the doctor transferred me to Windhoek on Wednesday (yesterday),” says the victim.
The hospitalised man says he is waiting to recover before he makes a case against Bembe. Asked why Bembe bit him, he says he suspects Bembe wanted to kill him and rob him of his possessions.
Khaebeb confirmed that Bembe is a friend that she was staying with temporarily, but she did not know why he bit the man who claimed to be her boyfriend. “I told him already that I have a boyfriend,” says Khaebes, a point of fact the victim vehemently denies.
