ZAMBIAN artist, Chiko Wise will be in Namibia this weekend. The 27-year old artist (real name is Chiko Mwenya Mumba) is scheduled to perform at 18h00 at the UN Plaza in Windhoek on Friday 29 June.

The organiser of the event George Simaata from Supreme Records says that he decided to invite Chiko Wise to come back to Namibia, because his first show here was a huge success. “He is a good artist and having more African artists in Namibia will allow the Namibian public to get to know other countries’ music and also to see the artists in real life.”  Other artists expected to perform alongside Chiko Wise are Majik Links from Zambia and Namibian artists Linda, Slammer and Jaicee Cole.  When Informanté Entertainment called Chiko Wise he was very excited and said that he cannot wait for the show. His song entitled ‘Mukansende’ is currently a hit on local radio stations, shebeens and night-clubs in Windhoek.

“The first time I came to Windhoek I came with Petersen, but this time I have been invited as an individual artist and I feel very proud to be invited for a second time. I know that I am lucky, because not many artists get such an opportunity,” the Zamibian artist says.  Chiko Wise has previously performed in Malawi, South Africa and is now heading back to Namibia for the second time.  The Zambian assures music fans that he will put on a good show on Friday. “I am coming with a new style and the audience will be spoilt rotten with some of my new hits. I will also sing a few of my old songs,” Chiko Wise said.

He will arrive in Windhoek on Friday and leave on Monday.
