One of the biggest disappointments my father, a good meat-eating, beer-drinking South African man, ever had was that I hated beer. He could never share a cold beer on a hot day with me. I just didn’t like the taste.
On a recent trip to your spectacular country I had the pleasure of meeting a brewer with a passion for his craft so strong that when he suggested I at least try his beer, and that it was different from all the other beers I might have tried in the past, I had to listen. So I tried a Camelthorn Bok Beer. And it was delicious! I’m not saying that I’m a convert, and that beer will become my drink of choice – but I am saying that the beer I drink to my father’s memory on his birthday every year will definitely be a Camelthorn! And who knows – it might not be a once-a-year occurrence any more... It must be difficult for a small craft brewery like Camelthorn to compete against the giants of the beer industry, but I hope that there is room for two players, and that Camelthorn succeeds. They are a credit to your Nation – that you can produce such passionate, talented entrepreneurs who do such a good job.
