After the Fresh Family’s two-year contract signed last year with Mshasho Productions was abruptly terminated in March, they are back on the rebound after teaming up with Done Deal Records.

They signed the marketing contract on Monday. The contract states that the owner of Done Deal Records, Djokic Dragan, aka Antonio, is responsible for marketing their new album. The album is entitled ‘Gold diggers’ and will be released towards the end of July.
Dragan says that he is very excited to welcome the Kwaito artists to his stable. “They are hard-working artists.”
They have been in studio with Dragan since March and after five months they are finally releasing their first album. While signed with Mshasho Productions for two years, they did not manage to release an album.
“We were made empty promises at Mshasho Productions. Last year in December on the television show ‘Whatagwan Reloaded’, the owner of Mshasho Productions even publicly announced that our album will come out at the end of February, but that never happened. When by the end of February we asked ‘what is happening?’ funny excuses were given to us, but that is in the past now. Let us put that in the past. Forget about it and look forward,” B-Fresh (real name Victor Basson) said.
However, the group hopes to receive better treatment while with Done Deal Records. “Dragan has done what others have failed to do. This is a great opportunity for us. Having our single playing on radio stations already shows the success of the teaming up with Done Deal records,” B-Fresh added confidently.
Their new single entitled ‘Laydies night’, featuring Fishman and Aunne, has been playing on radio stations since last week Friday. ‘Laydies night’ is a song dedicated to the ladies. It encourages women to have fun and relax, even on a Wednesday.
B-Fresh says that the ‘Gold diggers’ album will include songs about the difficulties that they experienced in the music industry, about their home town and the struggles that they face in their daily lives.
Does teaming up mean that Fresh Family might soon sign another contract that makes them artists of Done Deal Records? Dragan believes in testing the water first. “Let me first see how it works and if I am happy I might give them a contract to sign, which will make them artists of Done Deal Records,” he concludes.
