On Saturday 4 August, the Okahandja Air Strip is going to roar with the sound of souped-up engines, turbo-chargers and all-out aggression as the boys from the Okahandja Motor Club host their latest drag racing event.

The day of racing is expected to attract participants driving cars, bakkies, bikes and quads with all sorts of racing land vehicles welcome. 
Gate entry fees have been set at N$10 per person, while the cost to enter the drag events is set at N$10 per drag. Safety-gear and helmets will be compulsory for all competitors. The program is set to start with the opening of the gates at 09h00. Entries start at 9h30 and then at 10h00 it will be time for the spectacular dirt drag races to start.

Drag racing on gravel is not common and the event is certain to get the adrenaline pumping along, as well as a whole lot of dust flying. The dirt drags are scheduled to end at 12h30. During lunch, spectators and participants will all be entertained with a fun show, according to the organisers. After lunch the tar drag races are set to start at 13h30. The tar drag races are scheduled to end at 16h30, followed by another fun show before the prize-giving ceremony at 17h00.
