On Saturday 4 August, the Okahandja Air Strip is going to roar with the sound of souped-up engines, turbo-chargers and all-out aggression as the boys from the Okahandja Motor Club host their latest drag racing event. The day of racing is expected to attract participants driving cars, bakkies, bikes and quads with all sorts of racing land vehicles welcome. Drag racing on gravel is not common and the event is certain to get the adrenaline pumping along, as well as a whole lot of dust flying. The dirt drags are scheduled to end at 12h30. During lunch, spectators and participants will all be entertained with a fun show, according to the organisers. After lunch the tar drag races are set to start at 13h30. The tar drag races are scheduled to end at 16h30, followed by another fun show before the prize-giving ceremony at 17h00.
