Dear editor, allow me space to give my views regarding the proposed name changing for some places in Namibia, as they are termed to be of colonial origin.

With the due respect, I would like say few things about our political leaders, our government and the ruling party. Comrades, especially those proposing the name changes, can you tell this nation, just one benefit they will receive from these name changes? Just one, as I know there are serious negative externalities to be incurred by our people in those areas as well as to all Namibian people, should this name changing proposal got implemented. Let me mention few of these negativities, Identification documents for those residents should be changed, addresses and identities of business entities operating from those towns, and many other. Now, who will fund such huge but unnecessary changes?
I would like to mention here something that I have observed for  a long time now, and this name changing proposal by Presidential Affairs Minister forced me to speak out finally. Our political leaders have ways of imposing laws and rules over the people and they will definitely go ahead a implement this lousy costly name changing thing, despite of the strong objections from people that will be affected. Also, these guys seems to have lost touch with the reality, everything proposed these days, it should be costing us more than the benefits it will yield. Are our politicians old, tired and careless or they simply can’t do anything right?
Instead of availing more resources toward attaining the goals and objectives of ND4 and other national development vehicles, our money are spent carelessly in things that will benefits two or just a handful of old politicians.
We still have kids educated under trees, not enough books and chairs. No enough hospitals, no enough caring nurses, teachers have no accommodations at schools, Namibian students have no study loans, escalating housing prices, high unemployment rate, high crime rate, fraud, corruption,  the list is endless. Yet the public money is carelessly squandered by those on power.
If politicians have no more good ideas, they should resign and pave the way for new leaders.
