LOCAL Jazz group Fu Jazz is expected to perform at the Backstage Theater in Windhoek every third Saturday of the month. The first monthly show will kick off this coming Saturday, 18 August.
Ernst Herma, the director of Ondjila Y’Ondjaba says that the idea for the show comes from popular demand. “The last show was a huge success and the audience that attended kept on asking me when the next show will be hosted and that is why we have decided to host it every month,” Herma explains. He further says that the aim of the show is to bring music lovers something different. “When I see the Windhoek event calendar I would mainly only see Kwaito and hip hop music shows that are expected to take place, but with the Fu Jazz group having a performance every month, music lovers can attend a Jazz show on a regular basis.” The Fu was formed in 2007. The group consists of Jeremiah Casinda, Fernandez Paulus, John Casinda, Rolf Sprung, Thomas Jongebloed, Gøran Bogstrand, and Jacus Krige.
