I hereby appeal to the City of Windhoek to PLEASE make our lovely city more child- /teenage friendly by upgrading the existing recreational parks in the suburbs to accommodate skateboard and stuntbike enthusiasts.  
PLEASE GIVE OUR CHILDREN SOMETHING HEALTHY TO DO, other than loafing in Malls, experimenting with illegal substances (mostly because of boredom), watching TV, playing computer/PlayStation games.
Skateboarding has become incredibly popular amongst the youngsters as pastime and games, but they have nowhere to practice, play and perform.  I am sure that you are aware of the dissension surrounding these skateboarders in Windhoek.  Unfortunately they have no alternative but to ‘illegally’ play (skate) on paved sidewalks, around shopping centers, in parking areas and open spaces.  By creating skateboarding facilities in the recreational parks of every suburb, you would help these kids to stay out of trouble, to no longer be a nuisance at shopping centers etc., and most of all – TO BE HAPPY & HEALTHY!            
Please encourage our youth to become FIT and ACTIVE citizens by inviting them to PLAY!  Give them the opportunity to realize and live out their interests, to enjoy growing up and being a kid in the City of Windhoek.
