BANK Windhoek and Nedbank are going golfing this weekend. Bank Windhoek will host its sixth annual Bank Windhoek Coastal Golf Day in aid of Welfare tomorrow at the Walvis Bay Golf Course in Walvis Bay, whilst in Windhoek, Nedbank will announce a sponsorship to the Namibia Junior Golf Foundation (NJGF).

In a statement released to the media, bank Windhoek announced that 13 teams would be participating in the event.
“Bank Windhoek is committed to the communities of the Erongo Region through the raising of funds for welfare organisations situated in these areas.  Herewith Bank Windhoek demonstrates that ‘Together we do Better’,” said Andre Nel, Executive Officer: Retail Banking Services.
All expenses for the Golf Day will be covered by Bank Windhoek and through the entry fees of the participating teams, Bank Windhoek will be able to raise funds for welfare.  The welfare organisations that will benefit from the Bank Windhoek Coastal Golf Day will be announced during the prize giving ceremony at the end of the day.
Nedbank will tomorrow commit N$250,000 towards the development of golf in the country, with the handover of funds being made tomorrow night at the Windhoek Golf Club.
According to Nedbank, national colours will also be presented to four junior golfers representing Namibia at the All Africa Junior Championships in Kenya later this month. Last year Namibia came in 4th out of the 11 teams that participated in the Championships. This year’s team will be represented by Charl du Preez, Glen de Waal, Ruan Huyshamen and Richard Grobler, all members of the NJGF.
