NAMIBIAN press will today be on the witness stand as one of this country’s top female artists contributes to record store shelves with the release of her latest album.
Lady May, the Channel O Video Award winning songstress, will launch her new album “Pink Chokolate” tonight at the Warehouse Theatre in Windhoek. The naughty diva, known for her wild, energetic and erotic dance moves, spiced by her high-heeled attitude, will release her first ever album since joining Ogopa/Butterfly, the record label that also manages multi-award winning artists Gal Level and Kalaharians. Record label manager, Suleiman Kyababa, confirmed the release of the album on March 27. “It’s the first album she will release under Ogopa/Butterfly. She is quite talented and always full of energy. Above all, its up to the public to judge – we have done our part,” said Kyababa. Lady May joined Ogopa/Butterfly following a short squat with former manager, K-Boz. Informanté reported earlier that as a result of tight schedules and numerous projects pending, Lady May’s manager K-Boz had officially given up on managing the songstress and that the quirky artist would now be flying high with Butterfly. K-Boz explained at the time that their initial agreement had just been to work together on “a given project”, and that since he did not have a record label, he was unable to balance Lady May’s schedule with his. The two are still working together however, with K-Boz producing her latest album “Pink Chokolate”.
