Teen R&B sensation, fifteen year old Linda, is reportedly required to repeat Grade nine. Linda recently took the Namibian music scene by storm when she released her first single, entitled ‘I Believe”, featuring Zambian star Petersen. She is now repeating grade nine at Academia Secondary School in Windhoek because of a medical condition.

Her manager, George Simaata, says that the young singer has a kidney infection. “Linda has a kidney problem. She has not been feeling well and due to this she has been absent from school a lot and that is why she is repeating the previous grade at Academia,” he confirmed.
When called for comment Linda (real name Pendukeni Linda Simasiku) confirmed the news. “Yes, I’m repeating grade nine.” She however declined to provide further comment. Simaata says that the R&B singer is currently receiving treatment in Windhoek. “We trust that she will be fine after receiving the necessary medical treatment. I want to advise the public not to worry about Linda. She is a strong, young lady and everything will work out well in the end,” he says confidently.
One woman Informanté spoke to at Academia Secondary School, by the name of Vanessa, also confirmed that Linda is repeating ninth-grade at the school this year.
Linda’s health condition previously caused her to collapse in the middle of a performance. The fifteen-year old collapsed on stage at the Old Chez Ntemba in Windhoek on 3 December, while she was performing her second-last song at the launch of her first 19-track album, ‘Golden and Cool.‘
At the 2012 Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMA) nomination show, hosted on 3 March at D-Club in Windhoek, the talented young singer was nominated in six categories. Linda received nominations in the categories Best Collaboration, Best R&B, Best Newcomer, Best Single, Song of the Year and Best Female Artist of the Year.
