The pelagic fishing sector in Walvis Bay has landed its first thousand tonnes of pilchard in less than a week since the season started in all force. Industry spokespersons report the fish to be of good quality and size.

The wing-mounted camera on board the ill-fated ultra-light experimental aircraft that went down in Kaokoland early in March this year killing both its occupants, was destroyed in the crash and rendered useless for any air-crash investigation purposes.

It should be every Namibian employer’s priority to make money or study opportunities available to assist addressing the country’s skills gap. In handing over bursary certificates last Friday to three bright Namibian students, the Erongo Regional Electricity Distributor (RED)’s Human Resources Manager, Bennie Nangolo remarked. The three students, Markus Angula, Piquet Annique Jacobs and Bongile Babil Boois are the second group of students to be awarded bursaries by Erongo RED.

Burglary stuns JJD Group PDF Print E-mail

The newly-constructed headquarters of the JJD Group in Walvis Bay’s Theo Ben Gurirab Avenue, owned by well-known businessman and soccer personality Johny Doeseb, was targeted by burglars early on Sunday morning. The group suffered severe losses when laptop computers containing sensitive financial and engineering information were stolen. A flat screen television and other unspecified valuables were also taken.
