THE Ministry of Finance has expressed concern over Namibian exports in its most recent Quarterly Economic Update. “Should the Eurozone suffer any further setbacks on its tentative road to recovery, global growth prospects could take a hit, and with this, so too could demand for Namibian exports,” the finance ministry warned.

NamPower and Namcor have announced the signing of the Kudu Gas power project development agreement (PDA). The agreement brings together the (upstream) offshore development and the (downstream) power station development to ensure that both proceed through engineering and design to a final investment decision.

Last week, the opening of the Business Forum between Namibia and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade took place in Windhoek. At the event, Chinese Ambassador to Namibia Xin Shunkang said that, “Through the past years, China has extended firm support to Namibia in its effort to pursue independence and offered Namibia sincere help in its economic and social development. Meanwhile, China has enjoyed Namibia’s consistent and full support on the major issues related to territory and sovereignty.”
