WESTERN Suburbs Rugby Federations Club celebrates its 30th anniversary this weekend.
The club that has swooped almost everything that needs to be won in local rugby over the years held a gala dinner yesterday where finalists of Miss Western Suburbs were introduced.
Tomorrow a formal dance ‘Langarm’ will be held for supporters, old members and the community.
Other celebrations include Saturday’s high schools rugby, women rugby, old crooks and the Main event being the invitation against a Namibia select side at Suburbs.
Villagers, Torino’s, Viscounts, Flying Eagles and Jaguars are some of the clubs that played a key role in the establishment of Western Suburbs.
“The main purpose was to put all these clubs under one umbrella and because all these clubs were in Khomasdal and Katutura, hence they decided on the name Western Suburbs,” read a statement from Suburbs.
Currently the club has approximately 150 registered members of which 25 are women.
